About the Photographer

Welcome to the online photo gallery for T. Mortensen Images.  This web site is a collection of my favorite destinations from the Palouse to the Pacific Coast along with some great mountains and valleys in between.  I currently reside in the Seattle area but moved from Eastern Washington after college.  My grandparents were wheat farmers and I spent a fair amount of time growing up in the Palouse, which is one of my favorite places to shoot.  As a child visiting my grandparents, we would often drive up to Steptoe Butte and take in the views of the surrounding wheat fields.  I cherish the moments of spending time with them there.  This is where I was first exposed to photography, occasionally taking pictures with their camera.  

For the past twenty years I have been in pharmaceutical & medical sales and frequently travel as I have always covered multiple states.  After a few years of traveling through the Pacific NW on business, I decided to purchase a camera to capture on film some of the beauty I saw.  I eventually took my first photo tour, that was in the Palouse, to learn more about photography, composition and light. Over the past few years I have sought out several different professional photographers whose work I admired to refine my photography and continue the learning process through photo workshops.  With the expansion of my online photo gallery, I now look forward to leading these photo workshop to the Palouse to share some of the Palouse magic.
